Building a sound policy climate to support mining


The mining industry has long been a critical part of economic growth for countries throughout the world. But governments need to enact policies that encourage mining if they want to continue receiving the economic benefits of the mining sector.

In the developing world, a successful mining project often leads to increased numbers of jobs, increased incomes, and educational opportunities for a country’s citizens. In other words, mining is often one of the first steps in combating poverty.
